The thing thats still confusing me is whether or not I can acctually use surround sound, KMix seems to have found quite a number linkx audio components with names like ‘side’ ‘front’ ‘centre’ and ‘surround’ but what I cant tell is if these are the names its given to the hardware outputs, or whether, say all the hardware outputs are within the ‘surround’ level and it just uses the default output configuration for each channel.

The system works fine, but there is no sound. And finally the speaker test works: Ac888 seems that there is something in the drivers limiting the power the rear jacks can output, if I use the amarok equalizer to test the maximum volume achievable its still lower than xp with normal equalizer.

Note that only the rear audio jack has very low volume – the front audio jack has normal volume. Do you guys think this should this be considered the same bug? The problem still remains. So for example say I downloaded and extracted the drivers to the desktop I would open a Konsole window and type: Your soundcard is configured properly you have the correct output plugin selected.
