It could be that, with all the in and out of these cartridges, which are all virgin HP cartridges and not cheapies, that I’m having contact problems. I replaced my carriage drive belt without having to move or disengage any other parts of the printer thanks to God! I had figured that the black and standard color cartridges of the would duplicate what is achievable with the same setup on the C, but apparently not, or at least that is how it appears to me. Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and carriage with alcohol and a cotton swab. The Deskjet c driver available through Windows Update works fine for the Deskjet c.

I’ve got an C or two that I refurbished myself We wanted to test the black ink and you could hear the printer ‘typing’ but nothing showed. If neither solution solves the problem, perhaps you do have a defective cartridge.

This is the first time I’ve run xl this type of problem. Even new cartridges can be defective.

HP Deskjet 722c

The belt that moves the ink cartridge on my printer is destroyed. 722x say one doc. That’s what friends are for.

Dear Stephen, The grinding sound seems to be the very last thing that happens, meaning that the cartridges are at the service station. Most of the time I see this the hl board is bad.

How much is a carriage board anyway? Does anyone know where I can buy a rear access door, part number C? Under “advanced” settings there is a box “ICM” for image color management.

Dear Bert and Johanna, Thanks for commenting, Bert. I ran a couple of draft mode sheets and see banding. The green power light is on, but the orange light is blinking. Also, I should note, when I install a cartridge, I give a bit of a backward pressure on the cartridge as I bring down the clamp, trying to insure good pin contact with the strip connections on the back of the cartridge. I’m guessing that h; are a repeated missed ink jet feed from a lack of one electrical signal.


You could even bring in your own paper zp you want your resume to look more professional. Without a fix for this HPC, I will either need to get a backup up to speed or alternate between this printer for regular text and my newer HP where photos may be involved.

If you have let ink build up over many cycles, it might be contributing to your problem or, at the least, it could result in images with ink streaks.
