This by the way was a test to see how Linux would work with this laptop using another hard drive I have for it. I tried adjusting the firewall a while ago and still no luck I can see my router and I was able to put in my wep key but it still will not connect. Waldo You are absolutely right.

I know wired to the router I can connect directly to the internet but not wireless presently. I unfortunately can’t connect to any of them even latituce I had the key. I can’t say as I am still new to it although I have looked at many different flavors and distributions out there.

Hi I thought I would update this. Manuals for D http: So I fixed it I also installed all of the ndiswrappers and all of the wireless stuff I could find so between that and changing the key to WEP I finally fixed it. Hi thank you for your help this was a new install of Linux and I don’t remember turning the wireless off. The F2 key is located on the topmost row of keys on the Dell keyboard.


Maybe you could try a different kernel,possibly an older one.
